Back to School Night

Dear Zion parents,

Due to the current resurgence in covid-cases in the area and our desire to start the year as normally as possible, the Board of Education has altered the format of our traditional back-to-school night.  On a normal year, this is a big social gathering with food, bouncy-house, and lots of people - it’s a great time and a lot of fun.  But, as we have recently had parents testing positive and quarantining again, we don’t want to risk an event that could lead to mass quarantining right before the start of school.

So our back-to-school night this year will be lower key and spread out to avoid the large crowds.  We will use an open house format so students/parents can see the room, drop off supplies, and vent some back-to-school excitement.  The playground will still be open and people are still welcome to socialize there.

We don’t want to lose all the fun, so the teachers and board will coordinate a new scavenger hunt (as we did last year) to come in September!

Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to navigate these waters! We encourage you to bring your early childhood student (preschool and pre-k) from 4 to 6 p.m. and your K-8 child from 5-7 p.m. on August 17th.

In Christ,

Anthony Splittgerber
