Fourth-Grade Bake Sale to Help the Salvation Army!

In case you missed it, Mr. Vogel’s fourth grade class was featured in the news for their fundraising efforts on behalf of the Salvation Army.  A couple of fourth grade girls had the idea to do a bake sale with proceeds going to the Salvation Army.  Mr. Vogel and the admin gave the ok and the class went all out!  They made and posted signs throughout the building advertising, students made cookies, bagged them and sold to the student body before and after school.  They sold nearly a hundred dollars in cookies, and this was matched by an anonymous donation who donated the remaining bake sale products to those at the Salvation Army for distribution.  Mrs. Lisa Lieth, representing the Salvation Army came to Zion to receive the funds and an NTV news team came along as well!  See the video below:

One of the best things about this project, in this writer’s opinion, is that this was a student-directed project!
